  1. Having issues for AnyConnect 4.6.00362 on Windows 10 Pro Version 1803 build 17134.285. It has started within the last week and was working fine before that. It has worked since the latest Windows updates have been installed. What is happening is it will not open so you can login. If I wipe the AnyCo.

The Cisco AnyConnect VPN allows you to connect to Mason networks, making access to restricted services possible as if you were on campus. To connect to the VPN from your Windows computer, you need to install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.

Cisco AnyConnect VPN is available for download via the Related Downloads box to the right on this page, or you can install it from the Windows Software Center.

Open Software Center by clicking the Start Button > All Programs > Microsoft System Center 2012 > Configuration Manager > Software Center.

The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is the recommended method for connecting to U-M's Virtual Private Network (UMVPN) on a Mac device. This is the most secure method and is protected by Duo two-factor authentication. If you have a MiWorkspace supported Mac, Cisco AnyConnect is already installed on your device.

Important

  • If you have been connecting to the VPN using a different VPN client, you can continue to do so for now. It is anticipated that at some point during the 2020-21 academic year, you will be required to use Cisco AnyConnect and sign in with Duo two-factor authentication.
  • Duo's 'Remember Me' option does not work when signing in to the UMVPN using Cisco AnyConnect on a Mac. Users will be prompted to authenticate (username and password) each time they connect to the UMVPN.

Click the block-M, and then select Connect to UMVPN with AnyConnect to open the Cisco AnyConnect Client.

Select the applicable VPN profile, click Connect, and then sign in using Duo two-factor authentication when prompted. Note that 'legacy' profiles are not currently secured with Duo two-factor authentication.
